How’d you enjoy this year’s Free Comic Book Day? There were three comics that I had to have in my life, and happily collected them all (and more) after a very short comic crawl.
The comics on the left (image below), and the Deadpool #145 POP! toy were items I bought. Missing from my $50 stash is the Harley Quinn POP! that my sister just had to have. It’s one of the few things her and I agree on, heh.
The Star Trek: Mirror Broken, Skottie Young’s I HATE IMAGE, and the controversial Marvel’s Secret Empire are the three books I had to find, and it took me crawling to two stores (Red Nails II, and Silver Snail,) in Toronto to collect all three.
I also randomly scored some NBA card packs and a snap wristband for the 6yo nephew. Those tattoos? Will totes arm wrestle him for them.
Did you know that Secret Empire, a book that was given away freely last weekend, is now selling on eBay for about $7 CDN?? *blinks*
Mind you, others are burning the book.

The Free Comic Book Day overlord at Toronto’s Silver Snail, ensuring that we plebians only took one copy of each comic for our 10 book limit actually bellowed, “These are Free Comic Book Day comics, they won’t be worth anything!” in reference to people wanting to take more than one copy of any book I guess.
Not that I saw anyone taking more than one copy of anything, we were a pretty cool line of geeks.
Apparently, he didn’t foresee the demand of Secret Empire.
